The media and gaming industries are one of the fastest growing industries worldwide.
This qualification will provide a broad base of skills and knowledge within Creative Media and enable you to understand the career demands and opportunities available.
Learners can study two pathways: Creative Media Production or Games Design.
You will work in our dedicated facilities. All tutors are active within the Media industry and have a wealth of knowledge and experience to call upon providing you with the skills and knowledge to progress to higher level study or to start your chosen career.
For this course, you will need to have achieved a minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade 3 or above, including English or Maths.
On receipt of your application to study this course, you will be invited to attend an admissions interview with a member of the teaching team to discuss the course and its requirements further.
The course consists of the following units:
• Introduction to creative media methods and skills
• Introduction to production techniques in creative media
• Understanding an audience in creative media production
• Contextual research for creative media production
• Exploring audio production and technology
• Exploring visual production and technology
• Exploring interactive media production and technology
• Personal project and presentation in creative media production
• Personal project and presentation in creative media production
You will also have the opportunity to take part in educational and industrial visits during your course.
Alongside your main programme of study, you will also study GCSEs in English and Maths if you have not achieved GCSE grade 4 or above.
Units are assessed through a portfolio of evidence, practical demonstration and assignment work. There are no external examinations. An overall grade of Pass, Merit or Distinction will be awarded on your final major project in your chosen specialist area.
GCSE qualifications are assessed through external examination and portfolio work.

On successful achievement of this course you may wish to apply to progress onto the UAL Level 3 Diploma in Creative Media Production & Technology or a Level 3 Games Design course if you have achieved a Merit or Distinction overall at the end of your Level 2 course.
You could also study an apprenticeship or go into the world of work in a variety of creative media roles.
